 Scratch- In Class Example 1

The Canadian Forces pays its northern Rangers time and a half for any hours over 40 worked per week during the summer. The weekly payroll for all employees is as follows:

How would you create a spreadsheet that calculates the gross pay for each employee and the total weekly gross pay for the Canadian Forces?

Enter the data into a new spreadsheet in Google Docs and save the spreadsheet as "Scratch- Example 1 your initials"

  1. First, let's ask ourselves what information we need to know to calculate gross pay? Answer.
  2. Second, create a column headed by each piece of information. You may need to insert a column to organize the data in a meaningful way. I would organize it this way.
  3. Third, enter a formula in the first cell in each column and copy and paste the formula by clicking and dragging it over the rest of the cells in the same column. Here are the correct formulas.
  4. Finally, format your spreadsheet so that it is easy to read. Your final product should look like this.
